Our own well-being is anchored on our self-awareness of our emotions, reactions, and ways of being in the various environments in which we operate. We will look at research-based keys for cultivating resilience and the behavioral practices that can help sustain our resilience and well-being in the everyday. We will then turn to stress and failure and how our neurobiological response to such threats limit our awareness and abilities to leverage resilience coping skills. In response to our neurobiology, we will learn to leverage emotional intelligence and self-compassion as two foundational skillsets for managing our challenging environments and potential adverse events. Lastly, we will look at how to foster resilience and compassion in the cultures in which we work and live as part of our own leadership development and well-being practices. Throughout our workshop, participants will engage in their own self-reflection and conversations with peers regarding their own practices, neurobiological responses, experiences with compassion, and engagement with presentation themes broadly.
